Why you should avoid skipping meals

Why you should avoid skipping meals

Do you skip meals - intensionally or unintentionally. Stop this habit at once as it can have serious consequences on your health. It's quite understandable that the office meeting is more important than your breakfast or lunch. But do have regard for your body, which needs regular fuel (food) to keep it going. Here are few reasons why you should never skip a meal.

Affects digestion

Skipping meals affects your digestive system, which becomes erratic. For a healthy metabolism, your body needs three good meals in a day, that too at around the same time.

Food recharge your body

The food you consume is the fuel that runs your body. Whenever you skip on a meal, the body has to draw fuel from stored fat to function normally. If this continues for long it can be dangerous.

Reduced energy

Deprieving your body of food reduces its metabolism. This weakens your body and you feel tired. So keep eating at regular intervals, even though you are on the go.

Bad mood

Skipping meals leads to an emotional state described as 'hanger'. You experience anger because you are hungry. So when you skip a meal you put yourself through a bad mood.
