What killed Sunanda Pushkar

What killed Sunanda Pushkar?

Sunanda Tharoor, wife of junior Human Resource Minister, was found mysteriously dead in a seven-star hotel room in New Delhi's Chanakya Puri on Friday evening, a day after the cross-border Twitter   tussle involving a Pakistani journalist revealed the loose ends of Sunanda-Shashi's fledgling marriage.

Sunanda was 52 and is survived by a teenage son from her previous marriage.

Despite Shashi Tharoor's claims that they were happily married, a close friend of Sunanda revealed that  she had "accused Tharoor of infidelity" and she "shouted at him and often fought with him."

Police recovered her body at about 9.30 pm from room No. 345 in the Leela Palace Hotel where she was staying since Thursday. Police officials have said that the couple had checked into two separate suites - 342 and 345.
Sunanda was apparently allergic to dust, paint, so moved into hotel on her return from Kerala on Thursday. The couple were due to check out on Saturday morning, The Indian Express reported.
Police don't suspect a foul play and believe it could be a case of suicide since no external injuries were found on her body. However, no suicide note was recovered from the room. Her dead body has been sent to All India Institute of Medical Sciences for a post-mortem.

According to the Hindustan Times, the minister's staff reportedly told the SDM that Sunanda had not eaten for the past two days and was smoking, consuming alcohol and taking sleeping pills. Police sources further told the daily that they were looking at all possible angles including a heart attack and drug overdose.
Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said that a case under section 176 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been registered, which entails an inquiry by the local sub-divisional magistrate, since the couple had been married for less than seven years. They had married in 2010.

Sunanda spent the wee hours of Friday on micro-blogging site Twitter. Her tweet at 5.27 am said "a close frn of mine got, so made she did it but as v Hindus says joh hona hota hai woh hokay rahey ga.""Hastay huay jayengey (whatever is destined to happen will happen. will go smiling)", were among the last tweets of Sunanda Pushkar.
It has been confirmed that Sunanda Pushkar was undergoing medication for two diseases - an auto immunedisease Lupus and stomach tuberculosis.

The news of the death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, came as a shock tonight to the people in Thiruvananthapuram which Tharoor contested and won easily in his electoral debut in 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
