Did the world lose much more than 298 people, who were on board the ill-fated flight MH17. The world fears that the cure for Aids may have been lost with the Malaysia Airlines plane crash.

The plane was flying with around 100 scientists and researchers, who were among the “best and brightest” in the field of Aids. The group of scientists were set to attend the global Aids 2014 conference to be held in Melbourne, Australia.

Malaysian plane crashes over Ukraine, 298 killed 

A Malaysia Airlines plane was shot down on Thursday by terrorists over the Ukraine-Russia border. The plane crash killed all 298 people on board the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

The jet was reportedly shot down by terrorists and crashed over war-torn eastern Ukraine, bordering Russia. This is the second such plane mishap involving Malaysia Airlines within four months after the mysterious disappearance of flight MH370 over the Indian Ocean.
