Harman Baweja Dishkiyaoon Movie Review and Rating
'Dishkiyaaoon' is an underworld saga that fails to impress.
The story of 'Dishkiyaaoon' centres around Viky (Harman Baweja), who is left lonely after his mother's death. His father does not bother to fill in the void left in his life. Lack of love and care push Viky to the world of mafia. Here he meets Lakwa (Sunny Deol) who makes him a gangster. He becomes Viky Katoos and is ready to be the king of the underworld. At this juncture he meets his lady love (Ayesha Khanna). Now he wants to settle down with Ayesha and live the rest of his life in peace. But his past does not let him be in peace. Here begins his battle with his past, and he has to wage a war to come out of the dirty world that abounds in treachery and conspiracy.
Analysis :
'Dishkiyaaoon' is an underworld saga, wherein Viky is pulled into the underworld due to lack of love and care in his life. The film could have been a big success as most underworld sagas are intriguing and audience has lapped them up.
Sanamjit Sarkar Talwar's directorial debut tells the story on one such frustrated youngster who rises in the underworld. The concept of the film is not new but the story could have been made into an entertaining flick. The script does not disappoint totally, there are moments when you are surprised but in totality it lacks adequate entertainment. However, the storyline is predictable making the film boring. The sound of bullets wake you up with a jolt and after some time it becomes unbearable.
The decision of debutant producer Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra not to sign big stars for their project is understandable as the storyline does not have a crispness.
Performance :
Harman Baweja's performance has definitely improved from his past movies. But there are moments when you feel he's in Hrithik Roshan’s get-up. Sunny Deol is good but he does not have too many scenes. His presence could have been good for the scenes, as he adds weight to the screen. Debut Ayesha Khanna is good enough for her first film. Aditya Pancholi and Prashant Narayanan act their part well.
Final Word:
This one can be missed.
